Access and licence
Every article is free to read and download from the day it is published, for everyone, without registration. You don't need to set up IP ranges, proxies or authentication to give your users access: a link to the article is enough.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, so they may be copied into institutional repositories, course packs and reading lists, translated or text-mined, with credit to the authors and the journal. Details are on the open access page.
Discovery and metadata
- Article pages carry machine-readable metadata in their source: Highwire Press
citation_*tags (used by Google Scholar), Dublin Core, Open Graph and schema.orgScholarlyArticleJSON-LD. - Citation export from each article page: APA, BibTeX, RIS, EndNote and CSL-JSON, ready for reference managers.
- Sitemaps list every published page for crawlers: sitemap.xml and articles sitemap.
- DOIs: SustainaTerra is a Crossref member (DOI prefix 10.68694). Every published article is registered with Crossref, with its metadata and reference list, and its DOI resolves to a permanent article address.
- Accepted manuscripts are listed under Just accepted before the final version is online.
Full text and bulk access
Articles are produced in JATS XML, the standard format used by PubMed Central and most indexing services, and rendered from it to the web page and the PDF. Indexing services, repositories and text-mining projects can ask us for the JATS XML of all articles, a title list for catalogues and link resolvers, or a regular delivery of new content. An OAI-PMH interface is on our roadmap; until then, tell us what format your system needs.
Usage statistics
Article pages show their number of views. If your institution would like a report of the use of SustainaTerra content, or of articles by your researchers, ask us below.
Printed volumes
Libraries that keep printed collections can order complete issues or volumes, or place a standing order for each new volume: see printed copies.
